Happy New year!! 新年快乐 🎊 Greetings from Hong Kong Departed on December 29, 2016 (Hawaii Time) Landed at Hong Kong on the December 30, 2016 at 11:30 pm (Hong Kong Time) Things needed to do before departing to Hong Kong Filling out the online Application
Visa: Getting your student visa (Require to Mail in the original Documents)
Booking a Flight BOOK IT EARLY !! If you want to save $$, cheapest is around $600-$800 but also is 3-4 months before receving your acceptance letter. If you want to wait for you acceptance letter before ordering the plane ticket is price can be around $1000+. Because of the Holiday season and with Chinese New Year Prices goes up fast. When choosing your flight, be careful with the departing/ landing time and lay over. China Airline usually departing time is at nighttime, landing late morning, lay over is few hours. Korean Air, departing and landing time about the same as China airline but the lay over is over 10 hours!! Japan airline departing early in the morning, landing late night, and lay over about 5 hours. For me, I took Japan Airline, which I don't recommend if no one picks you up from the airport esp. it is landing at night time. I travel with a friend so her relatives came and pick us up. Exchanging Currency You can exchange at Bank of Hawaii but need to request at least a month before leaving without additional fees. For me, I exchanged at Hong Kong with the currency of $1 usd to $7.72 hkd at Bank of China (Hong Kong) 中國銀行(香港)有限公司. However, you need to have a bank account before you can exchange. *When exchanging DO NOT exchange for $1000 bills, a lot of place do not accept it and can be fake.* For more information of the CityU click "Here". Has all the deadlines, Course Selection, Pre-arrival information, ect. Good Luck and ENJOY !!
